Our story
A house built for people who are always somewhere between
Lotus Nakara was put together with one idea in mind — that every flight connection deserves a moment of stillness.
Back to HomeHow we began
Built from a family home on Thep Krasattri Road
The building on Thep Krasattri Road started as the family home of the Charoenwong family, who had lived in Sakhu for three generations. When Phuket Airport expanded in the 2010s and the lane outside grew busier, they began hosting the occasional traveller who arrived too late for a taxi and needed somewhere to put their bags.
Those early stays — a pot of tea, a clean room, a soft wake-up call — turned into something the family took seriously. Over several years they refurbished the house properly, kept the teak joinery and the wide verandas, and started Lotus Nakara as a small guesthouse for airport travellers.
Today the property still feels like a home. The rooms are unhurried, the staff know most guests by name within minutes, and the shuttle driver times departures around your flight, not a fixed schedule. That hasn't changed since the first guests stayed.
Our guiding values
Warmth without fuss
Guests are welcomed with care, not ceremony. A fresh room, a steady cup of tea and a clear explanation of the shuttle schedule — that's what matters.
Calm above comfort
Travellers arriving after a long flight need quiet more than features. Rooms are designed around rest — soft light, good blackout curtains and no unnecessary noise.
Your time, your schedule
Check-in and check-out are shaped around your flights, not around hotel convention. We work backwards from your departure and make sure you leave with time to spare.
A place, not a brand
Lotus Nakara isn't part of a chain. The property has its own character — teak walls, a garden view, handmade curtains — and that's something we take quiet pride in.
The people here
A small team, a steady welcome
Ploy Charoenwong
Host & General Manager
Third-generation Sakhu resident and the reason Lotus Nakara feels like a home rather than a transit stop. She oversees the property personally and is usually the one who brings your tea.
Nattawut Khemkham
Night Receptionist & Shuttle Coordinator
Handles all late arrivals and early departures with a calm efficiency that tired travellers find reassuring. Has driven the shuttle route to Phuket Airport more times than he can count.
Suda Wannasri
Housekeeping & Breakfast Service
Prepares each room before every guest and has a particular approach to bed-making that guests mention more often than anything else. Early-morning breakfast is her domain.
How we work
Standards that matter to a tired traveller
Full room reset between guests
Linen, towels, bathroom surfaces and amenities are replaced entirely between stays. Rooms are inspected before the key is handed over.
Secure and private stays
Guest information is kept within the property and is not passed to third parties. Each room has a key lock and the property is staffed at all hours.
Fire and safety compliance
The property meets Phuket Provincial Administration fire safety requirements. Smoke detectors, extinguishers and clearly marked exits are maintained and tested regularly.
Reliable connectivity
Wi-Fi is provided on a dedicated connection, stable enough to handle boarding passes, check-in apps and a video call without difficulty.
Licensed transport service
The shuttle is operated by a licensed driver with comprehensive vehicle insurance. Pick-up and drop-off times are confirmed in writing at check-in.
Tourism Authority of Thailand registration
Lotus Nakara is registered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand as a licensed guesthouse, operating in accordance with hospitality guidelines for Phuket province.
About our approach
Airport accommodation in Phuket that feels different
Lotus Nakara sits on Thep Krasattri Road in Sakhu, the quiet district that separates Phuket Airport from the island's busier southern parts. The location is deliberate — close enough to the terminal that the shuttle ride takes about ten minutes, far enough from the road noise that guests can sleep without interruption.
The guesthouse was shaped around the specific needs of transit travellers: people who arrive late, leave early or simply have several hours between connections. A standard hotel room isn't always the right fit for that kind of stay. Lotus Nakara offers a Daytime Rest Room for short rests, an overnight option paired with a shuttle, and a larger suite for families or groups with longer layovers.
What makes the property work well for guests isn't a particular feature list — it's the attitude of the people here. Staff who know the airport timetables, who track departure boards and who arrange transport without needing to be reminded. A kitchen that has breakfast ready before dawn for guests with early connections. Rooms that are cleaned thoroughly and quietly between every guest.
Guests travelling through Phuket on the way to Samui, Krabi, the Andaman islands or further afield find Lotus Nakara a sensible and restful midpoint. The address is straightforward to reach from the arrivals hall, and the team is available throughout the night for anyone whose flight lands outside standard hours.
